K.G.’s Supper Club / Billy Clyde's / Brief Reflections
4861 N. Teutonia Avenue
K.G.’s Supper Club, located at 4861 N. Teutonia Avenue, opened in 1965. The Sig Millonzi Trio performed there two or three nights a week from 1966 into 1967. The club closed in 1979 and reopened as Billy Clyde’s in 1980. The Buddy Montgomery Trio performed there in June of that year as part of a special weekend of music around the city, which served as a kickoff for Buddy’s organization, the Milwaukee Jazz Alliance. Billy Clyde’s closed after a fire in January 1982. In 1983, Arlis Jones opened a new club in the same space called Brief Reflections, where Penny Goodwin and her group began performing on weekends. Bunky Green joined her group for a grand opening celebration hosted by radio DJ Ron Cuzner in November of that year. The club continued into the mid-1980s. Today, the building houses a daycare center.
