KEN WIELE

Instructor

Ken Wiele is a jazz trombonist and educator based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He holds a dual degree in trombone performance and music education from Lawrence University, where he studied under renowned jazz educators Fred Sturm and Nick Keelan. Ken has served as a band director in the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee, instructed in the jazz studies program at the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO), and taught jazz improvisation to the trombone studio as Adjunct Lecturer at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.


Ken maintains an active performance career, working with various musical talent agencies that provide entertainment to corporate events all over the greater Midwest. He is involved with many local ensembles such as the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra (MJO) led by Curt Hanrahan, where he performs as a trombonist in their professional big band lineup, contributing to live recordings, concerts, and community outreach initiatives that celebrate and advance big band jazz in the region.
