DAKARAI BARCLAY

Dakarai Barclay is a trumpeter and educator currently based in Chicago, Illinois. Dakarai is a recent graduate of William Paterson University, where he studied under Jeremy Pelt while receiving his Master of Music. Prior to his tenure at William Paterson, Dakarai was a student at Morehouse College where he studied under Melvin Jones and Gordon Vernick (Georgia State University).

Dakarai has had the privilege of performing with mentors and elder musicians such as Willerm Delisfort, Winard Harper, Jarrard Harris, Ernest Dawkins, Marlene Rosenburg, and many more. Dakarai can be seen playing in venues throughout Chicago, New York, and elsewhere.
