THE JAZZ MESSENGERS: THE '60s SEXTET
ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH PAUL SILBERGLEIT
In the long, storied history of Art Blakey's famed outfit, one of its most fruitful eras was with the stellar early '60s lineup of Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter, Curtis Fuller, Cedar Walton, and Jymie Merritt. With MJI's Paul Silbergleit as your guide, come explore the tremendous output of this unit, most of whom were cutting-edge composers as well as soloists.
Cost: $15
Attendees need to purchase advance tickets. Attendees will receive a link and instructions an hour prior to the event to allow easy access to the workshop from a computer, tablet, or smartphone via Zoom Video Conferencing. Registration is open until 15 minutes before the start of the workshop. Links will be sent promptly to those who sign up just prior to the start time.
