About the Event
In response to the current pandemic crisis, MJI is offering online classes, free of charge, as part of its new program the Jazz Circle. Many school jazz programs have been disrupted by the current situation, and many aspiring musicians of all ages are looking to continue learning about jazz, so MJI is offering these classes in an effort to help the community during this challenging time. MJI artistic director Mark Davis and MJI education director Eric Jacobson will teach a four-week online series on jazz improvisation and harmony. Those who wish to make a donation to support this program and other MJI initiatives can make a donation here: DONATE NOW.
Middle and high school students, as well as adults wishing to participate need to register in advance for each class they plan to attend. Attendees will receive a link and instructions an hour prior to the class to allow easy access from a computer, tablet, or smartphone via Zoom Video Conferencing. Registration is open until 15 minutes before the start of each class. Links will be sent promptly to those who sign up just prior to the start time. Participants will be able to see and hear the instructor through live video. Attendees will not be seen on video but will have the option of asking questions during the session. Please call (414) 234-5565 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or need more info.
