About the Event
MJI is proud to host The Music Quintet, composed of top young jazz artists who studied at Oberlin College and Conservatory under jazz bass great and former Milwaukeean Gerald Cannon. The Music Quintet, a creative music ensemble, specializes in performing avant-garde, improvised music and seeks to honor the history of jazz and explore the future of this music through original compositions. Their debut album, “Plays Music,” was released in July 2022 on UpClose Records.
