MJI AT DOORS OPEN

Visiting historic buildings. Learning about Milwaukee architecture. Sharing experiences with others who are curious about the stories of Milwaukee’s past. These are the things that make Doors Open's annual event weekend so special.

Here’s an added bonus we’re thrilled to share: On Saturday, Sept. 24, Mark Davis and several of our youth ensemble students will be part of this year’s experience! That’s right, they’ll be performing at The Jazz Gallery from 1-4 p.m.

Make plans now to stop by and hear venue staff share the history of the notable Jazz Gallery building, a venue where Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner, Dexter Gordon, and Stan Getz once played. AND to learn why the Milwaukee Jazz Institute is proud to partner with the Jazz Gallery, preserving this music and passing it on for future generations to develop.
