LISTENING TO JAZZ—THE MUSIC OF JOHN COLTRANE
ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH PAUL SILBERGLEIT
John Coltrane was not only one of the most innovative and influential saxophonists of all time, but also the revolutionary figure who would perhaps more than anyone else define the post-bop modern era of jazz. From his groundbreaking work with Miles Davis to the harmonic developments and avant-garde explorations of his later years, his sound is unmistakeable, his influence immeasurable, and his recorded legacy unending in its depth. Come join MJI’s Paul Silbergleit for an insightful look at Trane’s singularly amazing career as a player, composer, and bandleader.
