LISTENING TO JAZZ: POP TUNES IN THE JAZZ WORLD
ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH PAUL SILBERGLEIT
While the usual jazz repertoire is a mix of jazz compositions and Great American Songbook–type standards, more contemporary pop music has also been adapted to fit into the style, often in surprising ways. Join MJI’s Paul Silbergleit to check out how songs by a wide array of popular artists, from the Beatles to Joni Mitchell to Radiohead, have been reimagined by jazz greats such as Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, and Brad Mehldau.
Cost: $15
