LISTENING TO JAZZ—KIND OF BLUE
ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH PAUL SILBERGLEIT
Miles Davis’s 1959 masterpiece Kind of Blue has a singular place in the history of recorded music, with many considering it to be the greatest jazz album of all time. Featuring a roster of musical legends as diverse as John Coltrane and Bill Evans, it emerged from an aggressive hard-bop phase of Miles's work, broke new ground in the realm of modal jazz, and yet came across with an atmosphere of subtlety that one might associate with the cool school. Join MJI’s Paul Silbergleit for an in-depth look at this landmark recording that defies category, but has helped to define a genre.
Cost: $15
