LISTENING TO JAZZ: JOHN COLTRANE’S CLASSIC QUARTET
ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH PAUL SILBERGLEIT
The legendary, groundbreaking saxophonist led an equally amazing and influential quartet through much of the 1960s, with McCoy Tyner at the piano, Elvin Jones on drums, and eventually Jimmy Garrison on bass. Together, they put an innovative spin on jazz standards, brought a new depth and intensity to modal jazz, created such milestone pieces as "A Love Supreme" and “Crescent,” and helped to usher in a new era of the music altogether.
Cost: $15
