LISTENING TO JAZZ: SEVEN SIDES OF A STANDARD—ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE
ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH PAUL SILBERGLEIT
Among the compositions from the Great American Songbook that have become part of the jazz repertoire, Jerome Kern’s “All the Things You Are” has a singularly essential and exalted place. Its unique form and beautifully complex harmonies have served as a proving ground for generations of players, and a canvas for the artistry of jazz greats as diverse as Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Pat Metheny. MJI’s Paul Silbergleit will introduce you to the song’s basic features and guide you through a striking array of interpretations.
Cost: $15
