JAZZ GUITAR LICKS LAB: ALTERED DOMINANT IMPROV
ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH PAUL SILBERGLEIT
In this recurring hands-on workshop with MJI guitar instructor Paul Silbergleit, you can start building a vocabulary of melodic ideas for jazz improvisation by trying out a few simple, short, easily playable lines or “licks.” Technical tips for their execution on guitar will be given, along with examples of how they may fit into an improvised solo. This month the focus will be on playing over altered dominant chords, especially in the context of V–I movement.
Cost: $15
Attendees need to purchase advance tickets. Attendees will receive a link and instructions an hour prior to the event to allow easy access to the workshop from a computer, tablet, or smartphone via Zoom Video Conferencing.
