DRUMMING WORKSHOP: CELEBRATING ROY HAYNES

ONLINE WORKSHOP WITH DAVE BAYLES

What do Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Sarah Vaughan, Sonny Rollins, Eric Dolphy, Oliver Nelson, and Pat Metheny all have in common? They all played and recorded with drummer Roy Haynes. Please join us to commemorate Mr. Haynes’s 96th Birthday!

The workshop will include background on this influential drummer and demonstrations of comping and soloing styles. It will also include an exclusive interview with former Roy Haynes Fountain of Youth bassist John Sullivan.

Cost: $15

Attendees need to purchase advance tickets. Attendees will receive a link and instructions an hour prior to the event to allow easy access to the workshop from a computer, tablet, or smartphone via Zoom Video Conferencing. Registration is open until 15 minutes before the start of the workshop. Links will be sent promptly to those who sign up just prior to the start time.
