A Conversation with Carl Allen
Join MJI faculty member Dave Bayles for a live, online conversation with Carl Allen, the gifted Milwaukee-born, New York-based drummer, sideman, bandleader, entrepreneur, and educator who has over 200 recordings to his credit. Taking place on the 83rd anniversary of legendary trumpeter Freddie Hubbard’s birth, Carl’s experiences touring, recording, and serving as Freddie’s musical director are sure to be part of the discussion.
Attendees are invited to ask questions about Carl's amazing career and his experiences working with legends such as Sonny Stitt, James Moody, Michael Brecker, Benny Golson, J.J. Johnson, Rickie Lee Jones, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Phil Woods, Benny Green, Joe Henderson, and many others.
