Join an Adult Small Ensemble
Whether you're a seasoned player, someone picking up the horn again after many years, or just learning about jazz, MJI has a place for you. Our adult jazz ensembles are coached by some of the area's finest jazz musicians and provide top-notch education, performance opportunities, and a fun social scene.
Interested in joining? Want to learn more? Please complete the MJI Ensemble Interest Form. MJI forms new ensembles throughout the year. Even if the current term has already begun, there may be a spot for you.
Ensemble schedule & placement
Our Adult Program is year-round. Year-round participation is not required, but encouraged.
The 15-week Spring Term begins in mid-January and ends the first week of May
The six-week Summer Term begins in mid-July
The 15-week Fall Term begins mid-September and ends mid-December
Students will be placed in an ensemble that matches their skill level and age. Fees are prorated for students who join mid-term.
All rehearsals and classes are held at the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts (926 E Center Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212).
