ADULT JAZZ ENSEMBLES
Join an Adult Jazz Ensemble
Whether you're a seasoned player, someone picking up the horn again after many years, or just learning about jazz, MJI has a place for you. Our adult jazz ensembles are coached by some of the area's finest jazz musicians and provide top-notch education, performance opportunities, and a fun social scene.
MJI forms new ensembles throughout the year. Let us know if you would like to join a small combo, theory class, or the big band even if the current term has already begun.
SPRING TERM - $260 (16 sessions)

BLUE NOTE ENSEMBLE
Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm at the Jazz Gallery. 926 E Center Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212.
Classes begin January 15 and end on May 13 with a performance at the Jazz Estate.
(Class will not be held on March 18 or April 15.

JAZZ THEORY CLASS
Dig Deeper
Eric Jacobson is the instructor for Learn How to Solo Over ii-V-I. This course is part of the MJI Youth Ensemble Program, and we are excited to also invite our adult students to attend. Learn how to play over chord progressions by learning jazz vocabulary, transposing patterns, and analyzing melodic phrases. This jazz theory class will be helpful for both beginning and advanced students.

SPRING TERM - $180 (15 sessions)
Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 pm at the Jazz Gallery.
Classes begin January 15 and end on May 6. (Class will not be held on March 18 or April 15.)
This jazz theory course will NOT be continued to be taught in the summer in conjunction with the MJI youth ensemble schedule. Details for the fall jazz theory courses will be posted in August.

Join the MJI Big Band
The MJI Big Band is team-taught by Dave Bayles and Eric Jacobson. Dave has a large collection of big band charts – we look forward to exploring them with you.
